Illinois Route 133 Refurbishing Project Slated for 2026

Hindsboro, IL…Illinois Route 133 will see a massive refurbishing project next year that will stretch from Coles/Douglas County line west to Arcola. State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) said the $35 million project is great for commuters and enhances the overall safety of traveling on Illinois Route 133.

"I have spoken with many of my constituents who say the repairs are much needed and long overdue," Miller said. "I drive on 133 myself, and I'm excited to see upgrades being made to a high-traffic highway. I've been working to expand road construction projects in my District and use taxpayer dollars for community projects that benefit everyone."

The Route 133 project is part of Rebuild Illinois and will encompass about twelve miles from Coles/Douglas line to a half-mile east of Interstate 57 in Arcola. The project includes resurfacing and installing new shoulders, culverts, storm sewers, and improving utilities.

"It's always a great day when tax dollars go back to communities in need instead of being wasted on pork projects," Miller continued to say. "Next year, we are going to see additional improvements made to infrastructure in Oakland and I look forward to seeing the projects break ground."

Representative Chris Miller serves the constituents of Illinois' 101st House District that includes parts of Coles County, including portions of Champaign, Douglas, and Vermilion Counties along the I-57 corridor.
