NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
LAS 36256
CRUZ CONSTRUCTION INC

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: CRUZ CONSTRUCTION INC

PROJECT NAME: LAS 36256

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Within the tributary known as Steamboat Slough directly east of Bethel, Alaska on the Kuskokwim River. At approximately, 60.786750, -161.697611

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 14 of Township 008N, Range 071W, Seward Meridian.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant, Cruz Construction, has requested a five-year land use permit for seasonal winter storage of a steel-hulled, unmanned tank barge measuring 150 feet in length, 48 feet in breadth, and 9.6 feet in depth during the annual non-operational winter period before returning to service each spring. The vessels will not be used for cargo operations, fueling, maintenance activities, or occupancy while in storage.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: October 1, 2026
End: September 30, 2031

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: October 14, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
