CINCINNATI (August 26, 2026) - Physicians at The Christ Hospital Health Network recently performed the 100th Zephyr Valve case. The procedure helps patients with emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Pulmonologists at the network specialize in the diagnosis and advanced treatment of lung and respiratory disease.
One of the leading treatments for COPD is endobronchial valve implants, also known as Zephyr Valves. The minimally invasive surgical option for patients with severe COPD and emphysema provides an alternative to more invasive traditional lung volume reduction surgery. The valves are implanted in selected airways of the lungs without incisions or cutting.
The procedure to implant the valves is minimally invasive with little physical stress and patients can notice an immediate difference, continuing to feel better in the weeks after receiving the implants. Thanks to the number of successful procedures performed, The Christ Hospital has been designated as the only Premier Practice Site in Greater Cincinnati by Pulmonx, the creator of the Zephyr Valve.
If you're interested in scheduling an appointment with The Christ Hospital Physicians - Pulmonary Medicine team or to find out if you may be a candidate for a Zephyr Valve, contact them at (513) 241-5489 or visit their website here.
