Boone County Clerk & Recorder's Office to Implement a Deed Fraud Referral Program

NOTICE OF DEED FRAUD REFERRAL PROGRAM
(55 ILCS 5/3-5010.5)
The Boone County Clerk & Recorder's Office, under Amy E. Ohlsen, is implementing a Deed Fraud Referral Program pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/3-5010.5 to strengthen protection for Boone County property owners.
This program creates a formal process for referring suspected fraudulent real-estate document recordings to authorities for investigation.
Effective Date:
This program will take effect 90 days from the date of this notice.
Program Goals:
Protect Boone County property owners from real estate deed fraud.
Strengthencoordination among county offices and law enforcement.
Promotetransparency and maintain public confidence in the County's records system.
