A Quick Look Back on 2025 in Human Resources

As we close out another dynamic year, the HR Department is proud to celebrate the milestones, growth, and accomplishments that shaped 2025. Our team continued to expand, innovate, and champion a workplace culture rooted in safety, wellness, and employee engagement.

This year, we welcomed two new members to our HR team: our new Administrative Assistant and Risk and Safety Analyst. Their expertise has strengthened our operations and enhanced our ability to support employees across the organization.

2025 marked a year of robust talent activity, including 39 new hires joining the City, and 23 employees were promoted, showcasing our strong internal development. We successfully ran 49 recruitments, ensuring our departments had the support needed to thrive. We were also excited to welcome our second cohort of Interns while launching our third citywide intern recruitment, further investing in future talent pipelines and Brentwood youth.

This year we rolled out brand-new employee engagement programs aimed at fostering connection, recognition, and collaboration. We also continued to honor outstanding contributions through our Core Value Awards, Employee of the Year, and Safety Employee of the Year recognitions.

2025 brought our biggest Benefits, Safety, and Wellness Fair yet, providing employees with expanded resources and hands-on support. We rolled out new AED's to all of the City facilities and PD vehicles and implemented a brand new ID Badging process. We further embraced a culture of wellbeing by offering programs including Walk N Lunch, meditation classes, workouts, and painting classes-all designed to encourage balance, health, and creativity in the workplace.
