Springer Nature today announces the launch of two new titles, that will sit within the wider Nature Portfolio. Nature Mechanical Engineering and Nature Reviews Computing reflect our continued commitment to serving emerging research communities and strengthen our support for authors across key research areas, driving knowledge and collaboration in areas critical to addressing global challenges.
Nature Mechanical Engineering [link to website] is a new, highly impactful platform for publishing the most significant technical advances, visionary ideas, and innovations with real-world impact in mechanical engineering. The journal will publish original research, reviews, commentary, and opinion pieces across the full breath of mechanical engineering, from robotics and human health to space exploration and sustainable energy. The journal aims to connect academia, industry, and policymakers in a united effort to showcase the critical role mechanical engineers play in building a sustainable, resilient future. The journal will be led by Mengying Su, PhD, based in Shanghai, China, and a dedicated in-house editorial team.
Nature Reviews Computing [link to website] will publish authoritative Review, Perspective and Comment articles covering the full spectrum of computer science, its applications, and intersections with society. Topics include hardware and architectures, software systems, networks and communication systems, theory of computation, numerical methods, AI and machine learning, high-performance and distributed computing, emerging computing paradigms, applied computing, cyber-physical systems, human-computer interaction, commercialisation, and sustainable computing. The journal will serve as an essential resource for high-quality syntheses of this fast-moving research area, setting standards, stimulating dialogue, and showcasing the global role of computer science.
The journal will be led by Laura Schmid, PhD, based in Seoul, South Korea, and supported by a dedicated editorial team to commission high-quality narrative content and engage global research communities.
Both titles will offer rigorous editorial standards, inclusive community engagement and a trusted venue for influential research. Titles are now open for submission.
