Rev. Eric Immel, S.J., named Jesuit in Residence for Mission Week

The Office of Mission and Ministry will welcome Rev. Eric Immel, S.J., a vocational promoter for the Midwest Province, as the Jesuit in Residence for Mission Week.

Immel was born in Madison and raised in Green Bay. He met the Jesuits at Saint Louis University before entering the Society of Jesus in 2011. He was ordained in 2022.

His Jesuit life has included many grace-filled ministries, including working on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota and at Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago and with the unhoused and incarcerated.

Immel will be concelebrating at the 6 p.m. Sunday Mass during Mission Week and attending Ignite on Tuesday as well as participating in other events throughout Mission Week.

"Father Immel has made a significant impact in the communities he has served since he joined the Jesuits and has been involved in cultivating the next generation of Jesuit priests and brothers," says Rev. James Pribek, S.J., acting vice president for mission and ministry. "We're lucky to have him on campus for Mission Week and to Act with Grace with us."
