DHS is funded through February 13, 2026 to allow for more negotiations around Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol guardrails.

Putting an end to the brief, partial government shutdown, the House of Representatives on February 3, 2026 passed by a narrow margin a spending bill that President Trump then signed into law. With the exception of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), all departments are funded for the duration of Fiscal Year (FY) 2026, through September 30.

The vote was 217-214.

The bill, which limits DHS funding to two weeks to allow for more negotiations over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol guardrails, also contains a number of health extenders including a two-year extension (through December 31, 2027) of telehealth flexibilities in Medicare and a five-year extension of the Acute Hospital at Home program.

Our initial summary of the bills is available here. Find links to further analysis on nursing homes, and of Medicaid, Older Americans Act and telehealth extensions-and keep up with all Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations in this serial post.
