Kevin C. Harkins
Frost Brown Todd (FBT) is pleased to announce that Kevin Harkins has joined the firm's Pittsburgh office as a partner in the Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation practice group. He is the fourth partner and second practice group member to join the firm since September.
"We are thrilled to welcome a veteran litigator like Kevin to FBT," said Jeremiah Byrne, leader of Frost Brown Todd's Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation practice group. "His litigation experience spanning across several areas and his strategic approach to resolving complex business disputes makes Kevin an excellent addition to our team. He brings a deep understanding of the commercial landscape, which will be invaluable to our clients who are navigating today's challenging business environment."
Harkins, who joins FBT from Dentons, has more than 35 years of experience practicing law. He has experience with commercial cases involving supply chain disputes, product liability for corporations, probate matters, shareholder disputes, intellectual property, investment firm defense, wrongful termination, class action and arbitration, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission enforcement actions. Harkins has argued cases in multiple venues, including the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and Common Pleas Courts in all counties of western Pennsylvania.
"As economic and regulatory uncertainty continues to cause a wide range of commercial disputes, Kevin's seasoned capabilities at all phases of litigation, from discovery to pleadings to trial and everything in between, will be vital to our clients' success," said Jordan Blask, partner-in-charge of FBT's Pittsburgh office. "He is a natural fit at Frost Brown Todd, and his arrival reflects the firm's dedication to recruiting best-in-class talent to provide trusted counsel-in Pittsburgh and beyond."
Since 1995, Harkins has participated in the Protection from Abuse Pro Bono Program, a legal aid service that helps domestic violence victims secure legal protection from their abusers. Additionally, Harkins is an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and has taught classes at the Duquesne University Paralegal Institute.
"I'm excited to join Frost Brown Todd, a firm committed to expanding its footprint while simultaneously providing unparalleled client service," said Harkins. "The comprehensive and nationwide FBT platform will give me the resources I need to provide sage counsel to my clients in an ever-changing business landscape."
