DCAA plays pivotal role supporting $10.5 million False Claims Act settlement case

Fort Belvoir, Va. -

W International, LLC, W International SC, LLC, Precision Material Handling Equipment, LLC, and Edward Walker have collectively agreed to pay $10.5 million to resolve allegations of submitting false claims to the U.S. Navy and Air Force under the False Claims Act. The companies received $80 million in government funds as subcontractors between 2019 and 2022 and were found to have invoiced the government for labor and material costs far exceeding actual expenses.

DCAA auditors played a critical role in the investigation, providing financial analysis that uncovered significant overcharges for manufactured weld tables and revealing collusion with a related company to inflate subcontractor invoices. Additionally, DCAA's expertise in analyzing financial records was instrumental proving the discrepancies and quantifying the government's losses, enabling investigators to hold the responsible parties accountable.
