Taunton, MA - Mayor Shaunna O'Connell and the Office of Economic & Community Development today announced the launch of another program to support local businesses. The new Business
Website & Marketing Grant Program will help local businesses strengthen their online presence and improve visibility in an increasingly competitive digital marketplace.
"Many small businesses work tirelessly to provide great products and services, but keeping up with the ever-changing world of technology and online marketing can be overwhelming," said O'Connell. "This program is about giving our businesses the tools they need to be found online, attract new customers, and thrive in today's marketplace."
Through a partnership with NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, eligible businesses will receive a professional assessment of their current website and social media presence. Based on this review, businesses may receive support that ranges from developing a new website to adding key features, or receiving guidance on marketing strategies.
Robert Corley, Executive Director of NeighborWorks, said "We're proud to partner with Mayor O'Connell and the City of Taunton's Economic Development Department to empower local small businesses with the digital tools they need to succeed. Through this grant program, we're providing hands-on support from personalized website coaching and modern logo design to fully customized, SEO optimized websites and Google Business Profile setup. It's about more than just building a website; it's about building a foundation for sustainable growth in today's digital economy. A strong online presence is an absolute must to be
successful."
The City of Taunton is dedicating $50,000 to fund this program, ensuring that local businesses have access to professional resources that can significantly improve their visibility and customer reach.
"Having a strong online presence is no longer optional-it's essential," said Jay Pateakos, Executive Director of the Office of Economic & Community Development. "Mayor O'Connell is
always looking for ways to assist local businesses, and this program is designed to level the playing field for Taunton businesses, giving them the tools they need to compete and succeed."
