WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washingtonian announced that U.S. Senator Susan Collins has been selected for its "Most Powerful Women in Washington 2026" list.
She joins former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Ketanji Brown Jackson, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles among this year's honorees.
"It is an honor to be included alongside so many accomplished women who have made significant contributions in public service, business, law, media, and other fields," said Senator Collins. "I am grateful to The Washingtonian for this recognition and to the people of Maine for trusting me with the privilege of representing them in the United States Senate."
In announcing her selection, The Washingtonian cited Senator Collins' role as Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Through that role, she has secured nearly $1.5 billion for 672 local projects in Maine over the last five years. She also rejected the Administration's proposal last year to cut funding for the National Institutes of Health by nearly 40 percent and instead helped increase funding for the agency by $415 million in the most recent appropriations legislation.
The full list of honorees can be viewed here.
