GREENSBORO, NC (November 4, 2026) - The Greensboro Police Department officially kicks off 'Operation Yuletide,' and we need your help!
Operation Yuletide is an initiative led by members of the Greensboro Police Department to bring some holiday cheer to good people who are experiencing tough times. Throughout the year, GPD employees meet people who have been impacted by serious crimes, accidents, traffic crashes, or an unfortunate turn of events.
As a way to give back, officers organize and collect items including clothing, toys, household and hygiene products that are delivered to the impacted families to let them know they are cared for by the Greensboro community. Along with individual families, GPD also "adopts" a senior community to deliver cheer and gifts of essential items.
Although this program is a GPD-led initiative, it would not be possible without community partners who adopt families and donate items. Community partners include individuals, community groups, businesses, City of Greensboro departments, law enforcement partners, and more!
How can someone sign up to help?
Adopters will receive family wish list information by November 11th that will include clothing sizes, kids' interests, household needs, etc.
OR
Collection boxes are located at Police HQ, 100 E. Police Plaza, Greensboro, for anyone who wants to donate in person. (Items can be donated through Nov. 24, 2026.)
