ATLANTA - State Representative Lisa Campbell (D-Kennesaw) today announced that she has selected Dr. Beverly Griffin Patton as a recipient of the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award, which is sponsored by the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus.
"Dr. Beverly Griffin Patton has spent decades investing in the people and stories that shape our community," said Rep. Campbell. "Her dedication to service, education and civic involvement has helped strengthen connections across generations, while ensuring that important local history is preserved and shared. I am proud to recognize Dr. Patton with the Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award and grateful for the example she continues to set through her leadership and commitment to others."
Dr. Beverly Griffin Patton has dedicated her life to uplifting and preserving the history, culture and wellbeing of her community through leadership, service and advocacy. She has played a role in amplifying the voices and experiences of Acworth's Black community, contributing to local historical preservation efforts and helping document Black life in Acworth through projects such as "A Place to Remember" and archival work with Kennesaw State University.
Dr. Patton has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as Membership Chair and Lifetime Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), vice president of Acworth's Historic Preservation Committee, vice president of the Old Rosenwald Community Center and a member of the Acworth Development Authority. Her commitment to community engagement has also extended to partnerships with organizations such as United Way, MUST Ministries and GirlTrek.
This award was created in honor of former State Representative Nikki T. Randall, who became the first African American female elected to the Georgia General Assembly. Former Rep. Randall served as chair of the Georgia Legislative Women's Caucus. Every year during Women's History Month, this caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and inspiration embodied by former Rep. Randall.

Representative Lisa Campbell represents the citizens of District 35, which includes a portion of Cobb County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Human Relations & Aging and Interstate Cooperation committees.
