Statement by Congressmembers Menendez, Watson Coleman, and McIver in Support of New Jersey Immigrant Protection Legislation

"Over the past year, our immigrant communities in New Jersey have lived in a constant state of fear as the Trump Administration has invaded our streets with ICE agents, tearing apart families and terrorizing our cities and towns.

"We firmly believe that we should be doing everything possible at all levels of government to protect all of our communities. That is why we strongly support the three immigrant protection bills on the Governor's desk. These bills, which we applaud our state legislature for passing, would stop sensitive data from being shared with the federal government, protect immigrants in sensitive locations, and codify the Immigrant Trust Directive.

We must and will continue to stand with immigrants and take urgent action to protect our neighbors."
