WASHINGTON, DC - Following the G20 Energy Abundance Ministerial in Houston, Marty Durbin, President of the U.S. Chamber's Global Energy Institute, issued the following statement:
"Energy abundance and energy security go hand in hand, and both are fundamental to economic growth and national security. We congratulate Secretaries Burgum and Wright and Administrator Zeldin for a successful Ministerial and for their focus on ways that the United States will power our economy and strengthen our allies through our natural resources.
"In particular, the Ministerial delivered a clear message that permitting reform remains at the top of the agenda and is essential to translating America's resource wealth into real-world results. The Administration's continued focus on permitting reform reflects its commitment to the private sector's role in unlocking the investment needed to achieve energy abundance.
"As the host of B20 USA, we were pleased to participate on the sidelines of the Ministerial by hosting energy executives from around the world-including the U.S., UK, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Japan and Venezuela-to help forge a business consensus that is feeding the G20. The conversation will continue from November 9-11 at the Wharf in Washington, DC, at the B20, the premier gathering of global business and policy leaders. This will not simply be another conference, but a place to turn dialogue into partnerships, investments and action."
