  • UL Solutions leaders participated in a panel discussion at the awards ceremony, part of the annual CHRO Summit.

UL Solutions has been recognized as one of the inaugural recipients of the People First Excellence Award, presented by The Conference Board in recognition of companies that lead with a people-first mindset.

During a June 3 ceremony in Chicago, The Conference Board also recognized S&P Global as an inaugural recipient of the People First Excellence Award. The organization noted that both honorees are "building cultures grounded in trust, accountability and a deep commitment to employee well-being while delivering strong business performance."

The honors were presented at the People First Awards Dinner, an event held in conjunction with The Conference Board Annual CHRO Summit.

"UL Solutions is honored to be a recipient of the People First Excellence Award in its debut year," said Linda Chapin, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at UL Solutions. "Our employees are deeply connected to our mission of working for a safer world, and they bring our values to life in meaningful ways every day. This recognition affirms our belief that by investing in people, you create a culture that builds trust, fuels innovation and supports long-term growth and impact."

Chapin and Alex Dadakis, executive vice president and president of Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC), accepted the award on behalf of UL Solutions.

"Our success truly depends on the expertise and judgment of our people," said Dadakis. "Strategy matters and systems matter, but in the end, people are the ones who solve problems and deliver for customers. This recognition reflects the work of colleagues throughout our company, including engineers, scientists, sales and operations teams, corporate functions and many others who help us deliver on our mission every day."

The dinner event included a panel discussion featuring Chapin, Dadakis and two executives from S&P Global - Girish Ganesan, chief people officer, and Sujatha Menon Zafar, vice president and global head of community and workplace engagement. Moderated by Diana Scott, U.S. Human Capital Center Leader at The Conference Board, the conversation offered insights on building and sustaining high-performing, people-centered organizations.

The CHRO Summit brought together senior HR leaders for discussions on critical issues shaping the future of work, including AI transformation, talent strategy and leadership development.

Founded in 1916, The Conference Board is a member-driven think tank that delivers insights for business. Additional details about the People First Excellence Award can be found in The Conference Board's press release.

This honor follows another accolade that UL Solutions recently received - the Robert W. Campbell Award from the National Safety Council, recognizing excellence in workplace safety leadership.
