The Winnipeg Police Service's Property Crime Unit has charged 42-year-old Ricardo Fabian KNIGHT in connection with a series of retail thefts across Winnipeg.
Investigators linked KNIGHT to retail thefts reported between July 13 and August 25, 2026:
On August 26, at 6:40 p.m., a suspect selected $795 in clothing from a store in the 1100 block of Grant Avenue and paid only for a pair of socks before attempting to leave with the remaining merchandise. Store security detained the suspect and police were contacted.
Attending West District General Patrol officers arrested the suspect without incident and turned him over to Property Crime Unit investigators.
All incidents were captured on the retailer's security cameras and reported to police. The total loss incurred by the retailer is estimated at $6,800. Through the investigation, investigators linked KNIGHT as a suspect in all the above-mentioned incidents.
KNIGHT is charged with multiple counts of Theft Under $5,000 and was detained in custody pending further court proceedings.
