We are proud to welcome Major General Clint Crosier, U.S. Air Force / U.S. Space Force (Ret.), as Strategic Advisor to Unibap Space Solutions.

Crosier brings exceptional leadership experience from across the space, aerospace, defense, cloud technology, and national security sectors. Over the course of a distinguished military career, he held senior leadership roles in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, including serving as Director of Space Force Planning in the Office of the Chief of Space Operations, where he helped shape the establishment and operation of the U.S. Space Force.

After retiring from military service, Crosier became the founding leader of the Aerospace and Satellite business at Amazon Web Services, working with commercial and government space organizations to support innovation across the global space ecosystem. His experience spans space operations, satellite systems, mission strategy, cloud-enabled space capabilities, national security, and executive engagement with customers, partners, and government stakeholders.

To mark his appointment, we asked him to share his thoughts on his new role, what attracted him to our company, and the future of high-performance computing in space.

What attracted you to Unibap?
"My relationship with Unibap actually began several years ago. In 2022, while leading Amazon Web Services' Aerospace & Satellite (A&S) business, my team worked closely with both Unibap and D-Orbit on a pioneering mission to demonstrate cloud-enabled edge computing in space.

As part of that effort, we evaluated multiple potential technology providers before selecting Unibap's onboard computing solution for the mission. Together, AWS, Unibap, and D-Orbit successfully demonstrated a first-of-its-kind capability that enabled data to be processed directly onboard the satellite before transmission to Earth. The mission successfully achieved all of its objectives while reducing required downlink bandwidth by approximately 52 percent.

That experience gave me firsthand insight into both the quality of Unibap's technology and the strength of its engineering team. Over the past several years, I've continued to watch the company mature its capabilities, expand its customer base, and establish itself as one of the industry's leading innovators in onboard computing.

What ultimately attracted me to join the Strategic Advisory Board was not only the technology itself, but my belief that Unibap has the opportunity to become one of the world's leading providers of intelligent onboard computing, software, and integrated edge-computing services for next-generation space missions. As governments and commercial operators increasingly move toward autonomous satellite operations and in-orbit data processing, I believe Unibap is exceptionally well positioned to help lead that transformation."

Where do you see the greatest opportunity to contribute to Unibap's journey?
"My primary focus will be helping accelerate Unibap's growth in the United States, particularly across the national security, civil government, and commercial space sectors.

Having spent nearly four decades leading military space organizations and then building Amazon Web Services' global Aerospace & Satellite business, I've had the privilege of working alongside many of the organizations that are now shaping the future of space. I hope to leverage those experiences and relationships to help Unibap strengthen its presence across the U.S. market, expand strategic partnerships, deepen engagement with government and industry leaders, and build direct relationships with the major aerospace and defense primes.

I also believe there is a tremendous opportunity to help position Unibap not simply as a supplier of onboard computing hardware, but as a strategic technology partner enabling the next generation of intelligent, autonomous space missions. That broader positioning will become increasingly important as space architectures continue to evolve."

What do you think about the future of high-performance computing in space?
"I believe onboard high-performance computing will become one of the defining technologies of the next generation of space architectures.

Historically, satellites have largely functioned as data collection platforms, transmitting information to Earth where processing, analysis, and decision-making occurred on the ground. That model is changing rapidly.

Future satellite constellations will increasingly process data onboard, collaborate with one another across distributed networks, dynamically adapt their missions, and deliver actionable information to users in near real time. As artificial intelligence becomes more deeply integrated into space systems, the ability to process data at the edge-in orbit rather than on the ground-will become a fundamental operational advantage.

High-performance onboard computing is the foundation that enables this transformation. It allows operators to make better use of limited communications bandwidth, respond more quickly to changing conditions, support greater satellite autonomy, and execute mission concepts that simply were not possible only a few years ago.

I believe this represents one of the most significant technology shifts our industry will experience over the next decade, and I see Unibap as being exceptionally well positioned to help enable that future."

Crosier's combination of military space leadership, commercial space experience, and deep understanding of the U.S. defense and national security ecosystem will help us strengthen our position as we expand our presence and partnerships in the global space market.
