ALL OʻAHU PUBLIC LIBRARIES AND OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED FRIDAY, APRIL 10

DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER

HONOLULU - In alignment with Gov. Josh Green's directive issued on April 9, 2026, in response to severe weather conditions expected to impact Oʻahu, all O'ahu public libraries and HSPLS offices will be closed on Friday, April 10.

All other public libraries and HSPLS offices on Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi Island and Maui County will maintain normal operations at this time.

The decision was made out of an abundance of caution related to potential impacts of flooding, dangerous road conditions and power outages. To ensure the safety of patrons and staff, conditions will be closely monitored; check the HSPLS website for updates.

Whenever the library is closed, the HSPLS digital doors are always open at librarieshawaii.org. With just a library card you can download e-books, stream movies, learn a language, read The New York Times and more!
