AAJ Applauds Bipartisan Senate Momentum on Protecting Older Americans Against Forced Arbitration
September 03,2025WASHINGTON, DC-American Association for Justice (AAJ) CEO Linda Lipsen issued the following statement after today's Senate Special Committee on Aging hearing on protecting older Americans in the workplace and the reintroduction of the Protecting Older Americans Act:
"Every day, Americans are denied their rights when powerful corporations force them into a rigged system that stacks the deck against workers and victims," said AAJ CEO Linda Lipsen. "All Americans-no matter their age-should be able to decide for themselves if and how they want to pursue justice, rather than be robbed of that dignity by a forced arbitration clause. I applaud Chairman Scott, Ranking Member Gillibrand, and the Senate Special Committee on Aging for holding today's bipartisan hearing. I'm also heartened to see the reintroduction of the Protecting Older Americans Act to restore the rights of older Americans to pursue justice despite a forced arbitration clause. Thank you to Senators Gillibrand, Durbin, Grassley, and Graham for their continued support on this critical issue."
