Lakers enter final stretch with Northern Michigan visit

No. 23 Grand Valley wraps up its regular-season home schedule, taking on Northern Michigan on November 7 at Lubbers Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Fans can watch Saturday's game online via FloSports, or listen to radio broadcasts available on WLAV (96.9 FM, wlav.com), The Ticket (106.1 FM, 1340 AM, theticketmi.com) or WLCS (98.3 FM, 983wlcs.com).

Grand Valley (6-3, 2-3 GLIAC) rolled past Roosevelt last weekend to snap a three-game losing streak. The Lakers' offense was led by Zak Olejniczak, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and Kellen Reed, who caught seven passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.

First-year head coach Matt Janus has Northern Michigan (2-7. 2-3 GLIAC) on a two-game winning streak after opening the season with seven straight losses. Offensively, the Wildcats are led by running back Noah Dobert, one of the top players in the GLIAC.

Dobert has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this season and ranks second in the conference, averaging 116.1 yards per game.

Defensively, the Wildcats have had some issues. Northern Michigan has been outscored, 324-123, through nine games, and their opponents are averaging 36 points per game.
