Watt Watchers of Texas Expands Energy Education with SECO Support

The Watt Watchers of Texas program, with support from Texas's State Energy Conservation Office (SECO), is offering new online professional development opportunities to help educators bring energy awareness into classrooms across the state.

Licensed Texas teachers and administrators can now access five free professional development courses that provide Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. Developed by the University of Texas at Austin's Webber Energy Group, each one-hour course explores the basics of power and water, their sources and uses, and practical approaches to conservation. Participants receive an official certificate from the University of Texas upon completion.

The program's resources are available at no cost to educators, who can create a free account and register today through the Watt Watchers of Texas website. Additional resource support was provided by Itron, Inc. and H-E-B's Our Texas, Our Future initiative.
