GAHANNA, Ohio - AEP Ohio has launched its new Virtual Home Energy Savings Walkthrough program, giving residential customers a convenient way to better understand their home's energy use and identify personalized opportunities to save money and energy.
The free program connects customers with a trained AEP Ohio Energy Advisor through a live video call using a smartphone or tablet. During the virtual appointment, the advisor guides customers through key areas of the home, evaluates energy use and provides customized recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce energy costs.
"Energy efficiency starts with understanding how your home uses energy," said Deanna Gilliland, AEP Ohio energy efficiency and consumer programs manager. "The Virtual Home Energy Savings Walkthrough gives customers personalized recommendations that can help them make informed decisions about improving their home's energy efficiency and managing their energy costs."

Following the appointment, customers receive a personalized energy report by email outlining recommended improvements and practical steps they can take to increase efficiency. While the program does not include equipment installation or replacement, it helps customers prioritize upgrades that could have the greatest impact on energy savings.
