Portland Man Arrested on Multiple Child Sexual Abuse and Privacy Crime Charges

Detectives with the Portland Police Bureau Child Abuse Team and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested Fonte T. Gladen, 26, of Portland. He was arrested on January 16, 2026 at approximately 9:00 a.m. as part of an ongoing investigation into the sexual exploitation of children.

Investigators determined that digital devices associated with the suspect contained images and videos depicting children and adults in bedrooms and bathrooms located inside a private residence.

The recordings were made using hidden cameras inside cell phone power adapters and external batteries, without the knowledge or consent of the victims. The investigation identified six minor children and five adults depicted in the recordings. Additional child sexual abuse material was located on a personal cell phone, along with evidence that material was received and distributed through online platforms. The recordings were made inside private residences of people known to the suspect. At this time, investigators do not believe there are additional victims.

The suspect was booked on a total of 385 felony charges. These include 86 counts of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, 93 counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy in the First Degree, 86 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, 112 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, and eight counts of Computer Crime. Hidden cameras can be concealed inside common household items and placed in private areas such as bedrooms or bathrooms. Community members are encouraged to be alert for unfamiliar or out of place objects, electronics plugged in where power is not normally needed,

or items positioned toward beds or bathrooms. If a hidden camera is discovered or suspected, do not touch it, document it if possible, move children to a safe area, and contact law enforcement immediately.

The case remains under investigation. No further details are being released at this time to protect the privacy of the victims.
