Wyre, Telenet, Proximus and Fiberklaar join forces to expand and accelerate the roll-out of fibre networks in Flanders

In a European-first, Liberty Global's Belgian netco Wyre and operator Telenet along with Proximus' netco, Fiberklaar, has secured approval from the Belgian Competition Authority to rollout one network between the parties in medium and rural population density areas of Flanders.

All parties will begin work immediately to rollout the network in a capital-efficient manner. The unique agreement means operators can invest with greater certainty over a fair return and allows the population of Flanders to benefit from internet speeds up to ten times faster than today, much quicker than previously possible.

Wyre will build 58.5% and Fiberklaar 41.5% of the network with the majority of homes passed by June 30, 2029 and 1.9m homes fully connected by 30, June 2037. Access to the network will be available to all providers on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms.
