Intergenerational Spring Clean-Up Brings Oneida County Community Together to Support SeniorsView

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. announced today that the 15th Annual Oneida County Intergenerational Spring Clean-Up saw 425 youth volunteers service the homes of more than 100 seniors citizens.

"Oneida County's Intergenerational Spring Clean-Up highlights what can be accomplished when our community comes together with a shared purpose," Picente said. "Our young volunteers are stepping up in a meaningful way, assisting seniors with important seasonal tasks and making a real difference in their daily lives. It's encouraging to see this level of civic pride and generosity. I commend the students, along with the schools, colleges and partner organizations, for their role in making this effort a success and for helping strengthen the connection between generations in our community."

The 15th Annual Intergenerational Spring Clean-Up was a collaboration between the Oneida County Youth Bureau, the Oneida County Office for the Aging and Continuing Care and local colleges, school districts and youth organizations.
