ATLANTA (October 26, 2026) - Today, Senate President Pro Tempore Larry Walker III (R-Perry) celebrated the announcement that Audi AG has selected the Middle Georgia megasite in Peach County as the location of its first U.S. manufacturing facility. The approximately $4 billion investment is expected to create 4,500 new jobs, marking a significant milestone for economic development in Middle Georgia.
"This is a tremendous win for Middle Georgia and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our state and local leaders," said President Pro Tempore Walker. "Audi's decision to invest $4 billion and bring thousands of new jobs to Peach County will create opportunities for hardworking Georgians, strengthen our local economy and help families build their futures right here at home. I want to thank Governor Kemp, the Mid-Georgia Gateway Joint Development Authority and the local leaders in Peach, Houston and Macon-Bibb counties whose collaboration helped make this historic announcement possible. I am proud to welcome Audi to Middle Georgia and look forward to the lasting impact this investment will have on our communities in the 20th District and across the state."
The new facility will produce premium SUVs for the North American market, with site grading expected to begin in 2027 and construction scheduled for 2028. Full production is anticipated in 2031, with an annual capacity of approximately 200,000 vehicles.
Audi's decision further solidifies Georgia's reputation as a leader in automotive manufacturing and highlights the importance of continued investment in workforce development, infrastructure and economic opportunities throughout the state. Through partnerships with Georgia Quick Start and the Technical College System of Georgia, the project will also support specialized workforce training to prepare Georgians for new careers in advanced manufacturing.
