Latin GRAMMY-Winning Flor de Toloache to Perform Free Concert Aug. 29 at Ball State

Latin GRAMMY-winning Flor de Toloache will perform a free outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Brown Family Amphitheater on the campus of Ball State University as part of the 2026 Muncie Three Trails Music Series.

The New York-based all-female Mariachi ensemble returns to Muncie with a sound that blends traditional Mexican music with influences ranging from salsa, bachata, cumbia, and Latin jazz to pop, hip-hop, and soul. Cincinnati-based Estrada do Sol will open the show.

The concert is free and open to the public, with no tickets required. Parking in most Ball State lots is free and open to the public on Saturdays. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Founded in 2008 by singers Mireya Ramos and Shae Fiol, Flor de Toloache has performed internationally and at venues and events including Coachella, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, and the Kennedy Center Honors. The group's 2017 album, Las Caras Lindas, won the Latin GRAMMY Award for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album, and its 2019 album, Indestructible, earned both GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations.

Saturday's performance is one of three remaining concerts in the 13th annual Muncie Three Trails Music Series, presented by Ball State University. The series brings nationally recognized recording artists to free outdoor performances at Brown Family Amphitheater and Canan Commons in Downtown Muncie.

The remaining 2026 concerts are:

• Blue Moon Marquee, with Prairie Creek Sirens - 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, Canan Commons in Downtown Muncie
• Mike Farris & The Fortunate Few, with Mike Martin & The Beautiful Mess - 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, Brown Family Amphitheater at Ball State University

Blue Moon Marquee is an award-winning Canadian blues and swing duo whose music draws from early blues, jazz, country, folk, soul, and rock 'n' roll.

GRAMMY, Americana Association, and Dove Music Award winner Mike Farris will close the series Sept. 19. A founding member of the rock group The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, Mr. Farris has released six solo albums, including his latest, The Sound of Muscle Shoals.

The Muncie Three Trails Music Series is a nonprofit partnership led by Muncie Downtown Development Partnership and series founder and organizer Rick Zeigler. The series seeks to bring critically acclaimed national artists to Muncie while highlighting the community's recreational, artistic, and cultural attractions.
