Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented ContourGlobal on the US$350 million debt and tax equity financing of the Black Hollow Sun solar project in Weld County, Colorado. The financing closed on October 17, 2025.
Black Hollow Sun is a photovoltaic solar complex that is expected to produce more than 600 GWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power more than 73,000 homes in the region.
When fully completed in 2026, the project will reach a total capacity of 324 MWp, making it northern Colorado's largest solar facility.
The project has two phases: Black Hollow Sun I (BHS I) and Black Hollow Sun II (BHS II). BHS I is a 185-MWp facility that came online and began delivering electricity to Platte River Power Authority last month. BHS II will add 139 MWp and is slated to be completed by the end of 2026.
Norton Rose Fulbright's deal team was led by Keith Martin (Washington, DC), Christy Rivera (New York) and Connie Gao (Los Angeles) and included Ori Noiman (Denver), Andrew Kelbley (New York) and Holden Degrave (New York).
