Reverend Shavon Arline-Bradley Announced as Closing Plenary Speaker for the 2026 ASPPH Annual Meeting

January 14, 2026

We are pleased to announce Reverend Shavon Arline-Bradley as the closing plenary speaker for the 2026 ASPPH Annual Meeting for Academic Public Health. A compelling and inspirational voice in national public health and equity conversations, her leadership and long-standing commitment to advancing equity, justice, and community-centered public health align closely with the values of ASPPH and our member institutions. The closing plenary will offer an opportunity for reflection and inspiration as we look toward the future of academic public health leadership.

Rev. Arline-Bradley serves as president and chief executive officer of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and brings over 21 years of experience in public health practice, diversity, equity, and inclusion, government affairs, and executive leadership. Her work sits at the intersection of public health, faith-based service, and national advocacy, where she has advanced policies and partnerships that promote healthier, more equitable communities. During the closing plenary, she will explore how values-driven leadership can enhance trust, promote collaboration across sectors, and facilitate meaningful progress toward achieving health equity.

The session will be moderated by incoming ASPPH chair-elect, Dr. Cynthia Harris of the Florida A&M University Institute of Public Health (IPH).

We look forward to convening with public health professionals in March and encourage early registration by January 31 to take advantage of reduced rates.
