Board of County Commissioners' Schedule for June 22 - June 26

MONDAY, June 22
4:00 p.m. - Commissioner Marsha Porter-Norton to host Community Office Hours at the Allison Grange in Ignacio
Commissioner Marsha Porter-Norton will host Community Office Hours from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Allison Grange in Ignacio, located at 2658 County Road 329. Residents are encouraged to stop by for an informal chat about county issues or concerns.

TUESDAY, June 23
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: R.S. Title 30, Article 28.

10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
PUBLIC HEARINGConsideration of a new tavern application for JOJA, LLC dba Lakehouse Grill.

The Board will consider:
Approval of County Cash Requirements June 5, 2026 to June 12, 2026.

  1. Approval of the State of Colorado Department of Human Services Contract with La Plata County for access to Equifax Verification Services for use of The Work Number.
  2. Approval of a Service Agreement between La Plata County Board of County Commissioners, La Plata County Sheriff and Axis Health System to maintain the Co-Responder Program for the balance of calendar year 2026.
  3. Approval to submit the 2026 Gaming Impact Grant Application.
  4. Consideration of Resolution #2026-14, Amending Chapter 18 Buildings and Building Regulations of the La Plata County Code.
  5. Consideration of Resolution #2026-20, appropriating sums of money for the 2026 Budget.
  6. Consideration of an appointment to the Southwestern Water Conservation District Board.

WEDNESDAY, June 24

12:30 p.m. - Durango Urban Renewal Plan Work Session
The Board will receive a presentation from City of Durango staff about the Durango Crossings Urban Renewal Plan and will discuss revenue sharing terms, sales tax remittance structure and a proposed Tax Increment Financing (TIF) cooperation agreement for a workforce housing project at Florida Road and CR 250. 2:30 p.m. - Visit to Culvert Replacement Site on County Road 524
The Board will meet with county staff to view the complete replacement of an eight-foot culvert failure, 200 yards east of 328 County Road 524. The culvert replacement was funded by the voter-approved proposition 1-A.

6:00 p.m. - "On the Road" Meeting at Breen Community Building
The Board and county staff will go "On the Road" to meet with county residents for an informational meeting and to hear from residents on issues important to them. The meeting will be held at the Breen Community Building, located at 15300 Highway 140 in Hesperus.

THURSDAY, June 25
11:30 a.m. - CCAT 2026 Interim Active Issues & Policy Committee Meeting
The Board will attend the virtual Counties and Commissioners Acting Together (CCAT) Interim Active Issues & Policy Committee Meeting.

FRIDAY, June 26
