USMEF partnered with the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) in Jamaica recently to promote the versatility and quality of U.S. beef and lamb to chefs, hoteliers, and food and beverage executives at the Jewel Grande resort.
The showcase began with presentations by USMEF Caribbean Representative Liz Wunderlich and Eric Baylor, an FAS agricultural attaché based in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, about the production and quality standards that make U.S. beef and lamb premium choices. A tasting reception followed, which demonstrated the versatility and superior flavor of U.S. beef and lamb through a variety of unique and popular dishes in Jamaica.
"Our goal was to position U.S. beef and lamb as top quality and demonstrate how our beef and lamb can elevate their menus," says Wunderlich.
Funding support for the seminar and reception was provided by the Beef Checkoff program, the American Lamb Board and USDA's Market Access Program.
