New clinical and office space to deliver care across a broad range of services and specialties
INDIAN LAND, S.C. (Sept. 26, 2025) - MUSC Health leaders, physicians, dignitaries and community members gathered today for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the MUSC Health Indian Land Medical Center and MUSC Health Indian Land Medical Pavilion, a nearby medical office and ambulatory building. The pavilion is slated to open in 2026, followed by the medical center in 2027. Together, these facilities will expand access to advanced medical specialties and services in Lancaster County, bringing care closer to home.
"Breaking ground on this new medical center marks a meaningful milestone in our ongoing mission to build and empower healthier communities," said David J. Cole, M.D., FACS, president of MUSC. "We firmly believe that the best care is local care, and this facility will ensure that families in Indian Land and surrounding communities have access to high-quality care at the right time, close to home, now and for generations to come."
Located on 84 acres, with 28 currently under development at 9280 Charlotte Highway, the development will include a three-story, 62,000-square-foot medical office building and a 50-bed hospital. Together, they will provide a broad range of services across nearly a dozen specialties, including:

It is anticipated that the Indian Land region will experience population growth of about 7% during the next five years.
