DALLAS - Lizette Rivera, a Sunset High School alumna, returns to Dallas ISD as a first-year dance teacher at Robert T. Hill Middle School. Inspired by the mentorship of her own high school teachers, Rivera is now using her passion for performing to guide students in both dance and career preparation, while encouraging them to embrace creativity, resilience, and healthy lifestyles. Her journey reflects the power of mentorship and the lasting impact of a supportive school community.

Elementary school turns pages into progress
B.H. Macon Elementary School, a campus that surged 19 points and received a B rating from Texas Education Agency, recently partnered with Book Drive for Kids to bring a free book fair to students. Supported by Dallas Children's Charities, the event provided books for students at a campus where a daily reading log is now required for every child, beginning in pre-K.
