Washington Street Bridge Closure
Effective Tuesday morning, Nov. 4, the Washington Street Bridge over Murrow Boulevard will be closed to all traffic, including motorized vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Following a regularly scheduled engineering inspection of the bridge conducted on November 3, several structural deficiencies were identified. The City of Greensboro Department of Transportation is closing the bridge out of an abundance of caution.
Additional assessment will be completed to determine the extent of the structural issues and potential next steps. Detour routes will be in place.
