Governor Polis Stands in Solidarity with Iranians Protesting for Freedom

DENVER - Governor Polis released the following statement in support of Iranians protesting for freedom against their oppressive government.

"I'm proud to stand in solidarity with all the brave Iranians standing up for freedom. In the face of dangerous threats of violence and suppression from their own government, people are coming together because they see a brighter future for Iran. Sadly, hundreds have already lost their lives in this struggle for freedom and may their memory and sacrifice inspire others in this struggle. The theocratic authoritarian regime has been heinously targeting women and LGBTQ Iranians for years, creating a country of fear. People around the world stand in support of this movement toward freedom, and I'm proud to be one of them," said Governor Jared Polis.
