MUNICH, GERMANY - Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ) along with U.S. Representative Sara Jacobs (D-CA) met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen on the sidelines of the 2026 Munich Security Conference.

Ranking Member Shaheen thanked Prime Minister Frederiksen for Denmark's close partnership with the United States and for hosting a recent bipartisan congressional delegation during a period of heightened tensions. She reaffirmed the Senate's commitment to the U.S.-Kingdom of Denmark relationship, including respect for Greenland's sovereignty, and highlighted her bipartisan legislative efforts to reinforce NATO unity. The Senator also commended Denmark's exceptional leadership in supporting Ukraine and underscored the need to ensure allied resources remain focused on countering Russian aggression.
