State Secretary for Europe Andreja Metelko-Zgombić received on 15 April 2026 a delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia (Sobranie), which is on a study visit to the Croatian Parliament and the Republic of Croatia.
During the meeting, Metelko-Zgombić expressed her satisfaction with the very dynamic bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of North Macedonia, marked by excellent cooperation between the two parliaments.
The state secretary particularly underscored Croatia's continuous support for North Macedonia's European path, noting that, unfortunately, the country has not yet formally opened accession negotiations in certain chapters of the negotiation process. She also highlighted Croatia's readiness to intensify technical assistance to North Macedonia through the transfer of its knowledge and experience gained during the accession negotiations and EU membership.
On this occasion, the importance of the role of the Sobranie and its working bodies in North Macedonia's European integration process was also emphasized.
The Macedonian interlocutors expressed their gratitude for Croatia's strong support for their country's European ambitions, while also highlighting their interest in further developing various forms of bilateral cooperation.
The Sobranie delegation was also received by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman.
