Hydrant flushing taking place across Iowa City this spring, summer
Fire hydrants in Iowa City will undergo flushing and maintenance throughout the spring and summer. This work is done as part of the Water Division's annual maintenance program.
The flushing activities will occur in various locations and will have a minimum impact on the normal flow of traffic for motorists and pedestrians.
Residents are reminded that if discolored water comes from their taps during this time, they should run their water until it clears.
