RESTON, Virginia, Oct. 20, 2026 - Same Day ACH growth of nearly 37% in volume and 32% in value were among the factors behind the strong third quarter 2026 performance of the modern ACH Network.

There were 9.3 billion payments with a total value of $25.6 trillion across the ACH Network in the third quarter. Those are respective increases of 5.9% and 10.2% over the same period in 2025.

Same Day ACH accounted for 470.4 million of those payments, up 36.7% from a year earlier, while the value of those payments reached $1.3 trillion, up from $970.4 billion a year earlier.

Year-to-date, there have been 1.3 billion Same Day ACH payments worth more than $3.6 trillion, increases of 30% and 28.7% respectively from the first three quarters of 2025.

"Both the number of Same Day ACH payments, and the value of those payments, show the significant role that Same Day ACH plays in helping to meet the nation's faster payment needs," said Jane Larimer, Nacha President and CEO.

Business-to-business ACH payments once again demonstrated robust growth as organizations continue to move away from checks. B2B payments showed a 9.7% increase this quarter to nearly 2.3 billion.

Healthcare providers are also leaving checks behind. ACH claim payments to providers rose 2.6% to more than 144 million in the quarter.

"As these quarterly increases continue, they demonstrate the strength of not only Same Day ACH, but the ACH Network overall," said Larimer.
