Lewisville Landmarks

The City of Lewisville, as part of its Centennial Celebration, has designated 10 local properties as Lewisville Landmarks.

The Lewisville Landmarks program is intended to recognize buildings of historical significance in Lewisville, with particular attention to houses in the Old Town Lewisville historic district, resulting in a marketable self-guided driving tour that enhances public awareness of Lewisville's history and expands the public telling of the Lewisville story.

The Centennial Historical Preservation Subcommittee received numerous applications, and assessed each entry based on building age, historical significance, cultural impact, architecture and aesthetic value, preservation status, level and quality of documentation, and public visibility.

The 10 new locations now join the original two locations - Prairie House Restaurant (formerly the Lewisville Feed Mill), and the former Huffines House on Main Street as Lewisville Landmarks.

The 10 new locations are:

  • Lewisville Playhouse, 160 W. Main Street
  • The Mayor's House, 305 W. College Street
  • Sparrow Collective building (formerly Huffines Motor Company), 105 E. Main Street
  • The Herod House, 337 Herod Street
  • The Blackall Home (formerly the Travelstead Home), 344 W. Walters Street
  • Main Street Café (formerly Tierney's Café & Tavern), 2-8 E. Main Street
  • The Tierney House (formerly the Crockett house), 477 Richland Street
  • Old Blue House, 245 Herod Street
  • Flourish Flowers & Gifts, 156 W. Main Street
  • Old Town Agency, Bernice Mendez State Farm, 145 W. Walters Street

Each location will receive a plaque to proudly proclaim their landmark status. A self-guided tour of all 12 Lewisville Landmark locations is currently being created and will be announced in October.
