Author Kristen Harmel to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening at 10AM on Wednesday, June 10^th, 2026

Orlando, FL - June 3^rd, 2026 -Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its new Lake Nona bookstore on Wednesday, June 10^th in southeast Orlando. The store in Lake Nona marks the third opening of 2026 in Florida, joining newly opened stores in Port St. Lucie and Melbourne. Two more new Barnes & Noble bookstores will also be opening later this year, with Vineland Point in southwest Orlando opening this summer, and a new store in Midtown Miami opening in the fall.

The Lake Nona Barnes & Noble will offer about 16,000 square feet of books, toys, a Barnes & Noble café, games, magazines, gift items and more. It is located in a newly constructed building in Lake Nona West (6039 Lake Nona Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827), next to Total Wine & More.

The store will officially open to the public at 10AM Eastern time on Wednesday the 10^th, with local author Kristen Harmel cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her novel, The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau. This opening is one of two Barnes & Noble Grand Opening celebrations happening on June 10^h, joining a new store in Turlock, CA, opening just north of Fresno.

Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made between June 10^th and 14^th. Customers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.

Everyone who visits the new Lake Nona Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to exclusive deals, like $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.

"The recent store openings in Port St. Lucie and Melbourne FL have been wonderfully well-received," said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. "We now add the first of two new bookstores to the Orlando area. Vineland Pointe follows and first we have this rare opportunity to open in a new development of scale and ambition. The Lake Noma West Barnes & Noble promises to be an exceptional bookstore."

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and will open more than 60 new stores this year, for the third year in a row. Barnes & Noble now boasts over 700 bookstores, having been below 600 stores as recently as 2023.

Store Manager Adina Frybarger, a bookseller with Barnes & Noble for nearly 30 years, previously opened the new Barnes & Noble in Panama City, FL in 2024 and is excited to return to Central Florida. She and her team are thrilled to be a part of the growing community in Lake Nona. Adina commented, "We will be bringing the Barnes & Noble brand and the love of literacy to a growing community and are looking forward to being in a brand-new shopping plaza."
