HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, a sidewalk and pavement improvement project is set to begin as early as October 12, in the Farber area and then moving to the Mexico area in Audrain County. Contractor crews will start on Route AA, from East Athey Street to 0.05 mile north of Doyle Street in Farber. Once complete, crews will move to the Mexico area to work in the following locations:
Initial work will begin with sidewalk improvements followed by pavement repairs in Spring 2027. Throughout the project, motorists can expect the following traffic impacts at various locations:
When crews are actively working, motorists may encounter delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes as necessary.
The $4.2 million contract was awarded to Magruder Paving, LLC, Troy, MO. All work is anticipated to be completed by July 2027.
This work is being completed as part of MoDOT's initiative for compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We ask that motorists please be attentive in work zones for their safety and the safety of highway workers. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.
