Impacts: Cochrane Ave and Raynor Ave will be closed between Millboro and Jasper St. Access to local residents will be maintained during construction, however access may be available only from Millboro St or Jasper St at times.
Coordination: The construction project team continues to coordinate with City of Joliet, Police and Fire departments, along with the local school districts.
2026 Work: Complete rehabilitation to the existing sanitary sewer, installation of new storm and sanitary sewer and new water main.
2027 Work: Installation of new noise abatement wall and full reconstruction of Cochrane Ave and Raynor Ave between Millboro St and Jasper St.
Expect disruptions in 2026 and 2027 to water service as water main replacement is completed. Advance notice to residents will be provided prior to any service disruptions.

I-80 Reconstruction: The overall I-80 project will redesign and rebuild 16 miles from Ridge Road, in Minooka, to U.S. 30, in Joliet and New Lenox while adding or extending auxiliary lanes to improve safety and reduce congestion. Interchanges will be rebuilt or improved at Interstate 55, Illinois 7, Center Street, Richards Street, and Briggs Street, with a new flyover ramp linking southbound I-55 to eastbound I-80 to improve traffic flow and safety. More than 30 bridges, including those over the Des Plaines River, will be rehabilitated or replaced.
