DENVER - Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is noting three ways it's making parking easier by giving customers more time, options, and a simpler way to dispute citations.

Starting September 14, You Can Dispute your Parking Ticket Online Again

The City and County of Denver is gearing up to once again offer people a way to dispute their parking tickets online.

Starting Monday, September 14, people who believe they were issued a parking citation in error can dispute it online at denvergov.org/parking. DOTI will review online citation disputes, replacing what was formerly the Parking Magistrates program run by Denver County Court.

To dispute a citation online when the portal opens September 14, the citation must not be over 20 days old (in other words, the ticket must have been issued on or after August 25).

Avoid a Parking Citation Altogether and Linger Longer at your Favorite Spot

Enjoy more time at your favorite shopping and dining locations and worry less about your parking space expiring before you get back!

Starting today, Denver will allow people to purchase a third hour of parking after 3 p.m. in downtown Denver, the LoHi neighborhood, and along the Broadway corridor at the meters and through the Pay by Phone app. People can also add time to their paid parking sessions - up to three hours in 8-minute increments after 3 p.m. - if they purchased less than three hours initially and are worried about getting back to their parking space before it expires.

The rate for the first two hours of parking in these areas will be $2 an hour (usual rate). Beginning at 3 p.m., a third hour will be available for $3 an hour.

A pilot of three-hour parking in the Governor's Park area this year found that about 20% of parkers chose to purchase the additional hour, demonstrating demand for greater flexibility while still maintaining parking turnover.
