Study Mission on Nature-based Solutions and Alternative Energy Sources

To pursue the APO Green Productivity 2.0 vision of net-zero emissions and the UN SDGs, the National Productivity Organisation, Bangladesh, held the Multicountry Observational Study Mission on Nature-based Solutions and Alternative Energy Sources in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 30 March-1 April 2026. The objectives were to highlight developmental strategies on climate adaptation at the community level, share approaches to creating nature-based products, and allow participants to observe the implications of policies fostering the adoption of alternative energy sources.

Thirty-seven participants from 12 member economies attended this study mission. A resource person from Bangladesh delivered lectures on Bangladesh's sustainable development policy landscape and community-level climate adaptation strategies, with supporting case studies. Participants visited Plummy Fashions Ltd., the Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) Climate Centre, and Spectra Solar Park Ltd. In particular, the CCDB Climate Centre provided valuable insights to many participants. It is a think tank and research organization that allows participants to understand methodologies related to climate change adoption, agriculture, water management, and the UN SDGs.
