EUAA civil society consultative forum meets

FRA attended the General Assembly of the EU Asylum Agency's Consultative Forum on 15 October. The Forum also had a session with the EUAA Fundamental Rights Officer.

The thematic meeting focused on the EUAA Guide on Alternatives to Detention and the screening tool being developed by Frontex and the EUAA.

FRA briefed participants on its work on monitoring, including its guidance on national independent mechanisms and the forthcoming methodology tool for monitoring the screening and the asylum border procedure.

FRA also attended a thematic meeting on people in vulnerable situations on 16 October, which brought together over 70 civil society organisations, the UN Refugee Agency, Frontex, and the Council of Europe.
