Introducing the Quarry District: Romano Capital’s 100-Acre Master Plan in East Vancouver

Crews have begun early grading at the former Fisher Quarry near SE 192nd Avenue and Highway 14

Romano Capital is leading the development of nearly 100 acres in East Vancouver, near the Camas border. Located with sweeping views of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood, The Quarry District is our latest master plan, designed to serve the residents of Clark County for generations to come with a vibrant mix of retail, residential, office, hospitality, family entertainment, and light industrial spaces.

Built on 135 years of history

The land was once home to the Fisher Rock Quarry, which operated for more than 135 years. Beginning in the last 1800s, the quarry grew to cover more than 180 acres. The Columbia basalt mined there helped pave the streets of Portland, build regional infrastructure, and support river and coastal engineering projects. Mining operations ended in 2022.

For more than a century, the Fisher Rock Quarry was a place of raw industry, where the bedrock of our region was unearthed, cut and shaped. Today, that rugged heritage meets a new blueprint.

A plan built around the community

The Quarry District will be more than a development. We're incorporating an expansive park designed to celebrate the natural beauty of the site, while a network of walking paths will connect neighborhoods, shops and gathering spaces. Along the way, residents and visitors can take in the dramatic basalt ledges left by the rock quarry, the evergreens that frame the property, and the open views of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood. 

Expanding our growing footprint along 192nd

This project is one of several investments Romano Capital is making in the area. We're also co-developing the large Palisades lot in the neighboring Columbia Palisades Master Plan, and we're leading the Eleva project, a multifamily development at the southwest corner of Hwy 14 and SE 192nd Avenue that's scheduled to break ground in spring 2027.
