Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin Pays Farewell Call on Director General of the Swedish Research Council Katarina Bjelke

On October 17, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin paid a farewell call on Ms. Katarina Bjelke, Director General of the Swedish Research Council (VR).

Ambassador Cui reviewed the progress of scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Sweden in recent years, and commended the Swedish Research Council for its active efforts in strengthening the China-Sweden partnership in science, technology, and innovation. He introduced the latest achievements of China's innovation-driven development strategy and expressed the hope that both sides shall continue to enhance policy dialogue, joint funding, and personnel exchanges and collaboration in areas such as life and health, green, low-carbon and sustainability development, thereby jointly promoting international scientific and technological cooperation toward higher quality and deeper collaboration.

Ms. Katarina Bjelke noted that high-level scientific and technological innovation cannot be achieved without international cooperation. She expressed the willingness to further enhance policy communication and personnel exchanges, maintain close contact with Chinese partners, continuously deepen mutual trust, and achieve mutual benefit and common development.
